This is my first blog post, and I’m going to use this opportunity to talk about how I think BMWs remind me of pigs.
Actually, before I get to that part, let me explain to you that I have always seen the fronts of cars as faces. The headlights make the eyes and the bumper or vent makes the mouth. This impression probably goes back to watching the Herbie movies when I was a kid. I suppose for that reason, cars have always seemed a little bit alive to me. They all seem to have faces, and in those faces appear individual personalites.
Now when looking at the face of a BMW, without a doubt, one of the most identifying and unique features of every BMW automobile is this:
That’s how you know it’s a BMW. And I personally hate it because I think it looks like giant nostrils on the face of the car. Some might compare it to the nostrils of a fearsome bull or comparable creature, but to me they are nostrils fitting of a pig. That’s not to say that there is anything wrong with pigs, but I don’t personally find their features attractive on a car. Therefore, I can respect some of their design elements, but as whole, I find it difficult to see BMWs as beautiful cars.
